Blogging for n00bs

Blogging is a curious experience that I would have never assumed would be necessary in the professional world, but upon deeper inspection there are reasons why blogging is so important in our current society but can also incite problems if used incorrectly.

Blogging is important because with this tool information can be spread through the masses, but the internet can only do so much for someone aside make the information available online, and whether it attracts people or not will depend on the user itself, which is why its important to have a brand. In the blog "Why Branding Works", the writer states a brand is not just a proxy for reputation or image or status, but a brand is also a tactic for grabbing attention and getting persuasion. In layman's term, branding is important because it then gives a reason to the reader to why they should care, so make sure your brand caters to your audience.

Since blogging tends to be a short reading, it gives us a dangerous one sided truth and as Bea Louger from Stanford states (ironically from her blog), Instead of providing a more complete truth, blogs help individuals create a more biased, individualized truth. This simply means that we hear one side of the story and decide to be judge and jury towards the situation, and we tend to place the guilt before hearing the other side. We as a society love being heroes and on the "right side of the situation" but the problem is that blogging can only offer so much information, and this is used to the original poster's advantage.

Intentions can determine the type of information that a entity or person will send out and as Seth Godin says on his blog, There are people and organizations that are racing to break the fabric of community that we all depend on. Why exactly would anyone spread FALSE information? The same reason why some people choose to call homes and accuse them of tax fraud, because they need to make PROFIT. This profit can come in many forms, whether it's destroying a reputation or bullying someone for monetary compensation, in the end someone loses due to lies. As a marketer, You want to create a stimulus under your control that you can reliably display and know that it has a good chance of gaining attention, but you can gain peoples attention by being plastic, just ask the Kardashians.

In this day and age, the internet has become this complex idea that many can struggle to grasp in the beginning, but it’s important to have a mentor who can help navigate problems that would otherwise stop newbies’ progress. Since this is my very first blog, I consider myself to be the newbie and hope to grow to like communication like this but as a society we tend to prefer pictures and video over reading, but I can tell you I am guilty of this crime as well.

We were groomed to believe the importance of reading books because "this was the only way to learn". The negative stigma of being on your phone means you're wasting time still remains in some households, especially hispanic ones. My family was very traditional when it came to technology meaning that phones and technology were used for entertainment more than anything else, but in this age information is more easily spread on the internet rather than paper itself which can prove to be dangerous, but theres been far worst things placed on paper than Donald Trump tweeting "Covfefe".

In the end, this blogging experience is one that can be useful and amazing if used correctly since platforms like these are supposed to only give us bites of information so that we, as readers, can do our own research. But many take these bites of information and hold them as fact until proven wrong, but the apology always tends to be more silent than the accusation.

Racism and I (and me)

The "Looking Glass Self" To be able to understand morality, one must first understand  that a person’s self grows out of a person´s social interactions with others  and therefore is shaped by their direct influences. Although societal norms do play a major role in moral development, greater influence stems from interpersonal relationships such as close family and friends. This is known as the "me" side of Cooley's concept, or the  socialized aspect of the person . The "I" in Mead's concept plays into a integral part of someone's life by being  the part of the self that is spontaneous, impulsive and creative , or a decision that is brash in nature and essentially our unsocialized behaviors whereas the "me" side is a more concerned of how one is viewed in their current society.  Humans as Social Creatures  Socially there is a need to be liked and the need to be right, and at times the need to be liked trump's the need to be right to...
